William Cardona Sr., 77, of Elwood, NJ passed away peacefully at home with his loving family by his side on Wednesday, October 1, 2025. William was born in Ponce, Puerto Rico and he has lived in the Elwood area for more than fifty years. Before retiring he worked at Bally's Park Place as a heavy porter. He enjoyed keeping up with his yard, raising and taking care of his dogs over the years, but his greatest joy was spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Julia Cardona (Sanchez), his son, William Cardona Jr. his wife Nicole and granddaughters, Izabella and Kyleigh, daughter, Maria Cardona, brother, Manuel Cardona, his wife Carmen, sister in law, Josefina Cardona, brothers, Juan, Ramon, Miguel, and Osvaldo Jr., sisters, Antonia and Norma along with many beloved nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father, Antonio Cardona, mother, Ursula Cardona-Mora, brothers, Osvaldo Cardona Sr. and Norberto Cardona, and sister, Iris Aviles.
A viewing will be held on Saturday, October 4, 2025 from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM at the Carnesale Funeral Home. 202 S. Third Street in Hammonton, where funeral services will take place at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at Egg Harbor City Cemetery, Moss Mill Road and Hamburg Avenue in Egg Harbor City.
