Dez'Shod Brewington Obituary

Dez'Shod Brewington, affectionately known as "Shodii," was born on August 20, 2009, in Voorhees, New Jersey, and passed away far too soon on Saturday, August 30, 2025.

Dez'Shod was a loving son, brother, grandson, nephew, and friend whose presence lit up every room he entered. He had a gift for making people laugh, a charm that drew people close, and a spirit that inspired everyone around him. He loved his mother deeply, looked up to his father with admiration, and had a special bond with his siblings, Desean, Skye, and A'Nylah. His grandparents held a cherished place in his heart, and he carried their love with him in everything he did.

Shodii had a way of balancing toughness with tenderness. But in reality, his love showed through in his own way—whether it was tickling his mom, wrestling with his dad, or rolling on the floor laughing with his siblings. That was Shodii being Shodii—playful, strong, and full of love in his unique way.

A gifted athlete and an upcoming star for the Morgan High School Mustangs in Florida, Dez'Shod shined on the football field and basketball court, where his drive and dedication made him a force to be reckoned with. Outside of sports, he found joy in music, especially the heartfelt songs of Rod Wave, which often reflected his own depth and emotions. His adventurous side came alive while riding his ATV and bikes, exploring the outdoors, and living life with energy and freedom. Above all, he loved spending time with his girlfriend, Fantasia Hoffman, a.k.a. Tasia, who held a very special place in his heart.

Dez'Shod is survived by his devoted parents, Tiffany Antoine and Derek Brewington; his siblings, Desean Brewington, A'Nylah Brewington, Skye White; his grandmothers, Cynthia Brewington and Carolle Antoine-Harper; his grandfathers, Wendell Harper, David Brewington Sr.; and his great-grandmothers, Genevieve Beale, Jeanette Carter, and Evangeline Harper. He will also be lovingly remembered by his uncle, David Brewington Jr.; his aunts, Christine Antoine, Chantel Brewington, Latoya Barnes, and Camillah McCoy; and his cousins, Zymeir, Zyeem, Nasan , Sanai, Keoma, Kayla and a host of more amazing cousins. He leaves behind a host of extended loved ones, friends, coaches, and teammates who will forever carry his memory in their hearts. Dez'Shod's life, though brief, was filled with love, laughter, and inspiration. He will be deeply missed and forever cherished
