Salvatore R. DeMauro, 83, of Hammonton, passed away on August 12th, at home surrounded by his family.
Born and raised in Hammonton, he formerly resided in Vineland for 22 years and Lenore, NC for 5 years. He is predeceased by his mother Mae DeMauro and father Sal G. DeMauro.
Beloved husband of Jackie (nee Mazza) of 58 years. Devoted father of Kris (Dave) DeRuchie of Washington Township; Greg (Lori) DeMauro of Mebane, NC; Sandy DeMauro (Jon Paul Hernandez) of Wellington, FL. Loving grandfather of Megan DeRuchie; Darren, Dean (Cassandra), & Annalise DeMauro; Kayla, Sydney, & Ryan Oswald & Josh Hernandez; great-grandson Alden DeMauro. Dear brother-in-law of Vic Mazza (Toni Ann Ordille). Loved by large extended family and good friends.
Sal began his career at Owens-Illinois/Kimble Glass in Vineland as an industrial engineer and retired as the Plant Manager of the Cajah's Mountain plant in North Carolina.
Sal was a member of the 177 Air National Guard in Atlantic City. While he served, he was activated and stationed in Korea during the Vietnam conflict. He was a member of the Lenore Chamber of Commerce, Exchange Club in Hammonton and Knights of Columbus Pallotti Council 3471. He was a lifelong sports fan cheering for the Phillies, Eagles, & Flyers and a proud University of Iowa Hawkeye alum. He enjoyed playing pinochle, gardening, taking care of his lawn, car trips, and cruises.
Family and friends are invited to attend his viewing Monday, August 18th, 9am-11am at the Carnesale Funeral Home 202 S 3rd St, Hammonton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated, 11:30am, in St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Parish, Church of St Joseph 226 French St., Hammonton. Burial will follow in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Hammonton.
