Anthony "Whitey" J. Barresi Obituary

Anthony J. "Whitey"  Barresi, 90, of Hammonton passed away peacefully at his residence on Friday, April 11, 2025. Born in Hammonton he was a lifelong resident there. He proudly served in the United States army during the Korean War. Whitey retired from Lockheed Martin as a supervisor. He enjoyed working on transmissions as a side job. He was a longtime member of the Our Lady of Assumption Society where he formerly served as president. He was a member and former president the Hammonton Rotary Club, President and longtime treasurer of the Hammonton Democratic Club. He served on Hammonton Town Council in 1982 and was a member of the Zoning Board. Whitey served his church as an usher at Sunday morning Mass for many years. He was predeceased by his parents, John and Minnie Barresi, his wife Marie, his sisters, Mildred Barresi and Nancy Dewees and his brother Frank. Whitey is survived by his three daughters, Donna Olsen and her husband Tim, Sharon Raffo and her husband Rich, and Linda Pereira, his grandchildren, Kristen (Charles), Melissa (Dani), Sarah (Jonathan), Andrea (Joseph) and his great grandchildren, William, Richard, Ava, Jaxson and Sofia.


A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, April 15, 2025, 11:00 am in St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Parish, Church of St. Joseph's 226 French Street, Hammonton where a viewing will be held from 9:30 am until 10:45 am. Burial will follow in Greenmount Cemetery, Hammonton. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Hammonton DAV Chapter #66, 446 S. Egg Harbor Road, Hammonton, NJ or to the charity of one's choice.
