Obituary of Daniel M. Sherman
Daniel M. "Dan" Sherman, 73, of Hammonton, NJ passed away peacefully on Friday, February 28, 2025, with his family by his side. Born in Darby, PA, he was raised in Blackwood, NJ and resided in Hammonton for the past 21 years. He served the Church for 25 years. Dan then worked at the Hilton Casino as a security guard, and finally he worked as a cashier at the Farley Service Station on the Atlantic City Expressway. He was a Fourth-Degree member of the Knights of Columbus St. Vincent Pallotti Council #3471. Dan loved traveling, especially taking cruises with family and friends. He was an avid Phillies fan and loved watching them play.
He is survived by his wife, Lydia G. Sherman (nee Helliwell); one sister, Mary Ann Krug and her husband Paul; his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Charles and Laurel Helliwell; his three nephews, Paul A. Krug (Nina), Michael Krug (Judy) and Gregory Krug (Kathryn) and his niece Maggie Helliwell, several great nieces and great nephews, cousins and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, March 6, 2025, 11:00 am in St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Parish, Church of St. Joseph's 226 French Street, Hammonton, NJ where a viewing will be held from 9:30 am until 11:00 am. Burial will follow in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Hammonton.
