Obituary of Carmella Ammirato

Carmella Ammirato (nee DiNardo), 89, of Hammonton passed away on Sunday, February, 16, 2025 at Traditions of Cross Keys in Glassboro. Born in Bridgeport, PA she was a resident of Hammonton since 1968. Carmella dedicated many years to the hospitality industry, working at the Hilton Hotel and Casino and previously at Harrah's Resort, both in Atlantic City. She took pride in her work and formed lasting friendships with colleagues along the way. Beyond her career, Carmella was an active member of her community. She was a proud member of the Women's Civic Club in Hammonton and a former member of St. Martin DePorres R.C. Church. Giving back was important to her, and she generously volunteered for the Red Cross Blood Mobile for many years, always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. Carmella found joy in life's simple pleasures and cherished every moment spent with family and friends. She loved visiting the casinos with her husband, taking trips to Las Vegas, and cheering on the Phillies and her favorite hockey team. Sundays were spend with family around the table for her delicious spaghetti dinners. A talented baker, she was known for her Ricotta Cookies, always made with love and her husband's help. Carmella also enjoyed lively card nights with her girlfriends, where laughter and friendship were always in abundance. Above all, she adored her grandchildren, who brought endless joy to her life. Carmella was predeceased by her husband, Rudolph Ammirato, her two sons, John Ammirato and Rudy Ammirato, her granddaughter, Ashley Ammirato and her siblings, Anne, Mary T., Anthony, Sam, Joe, Jean and Mike. She is survived by her three sons and their wives, Steve and Hope Ammirato, Mike and Sally Ammirato, and Mark and Marcia Ammirato, seven grandchildren, Jill(Derek) Craig, Melissa(Mike) Giardino, Michael Ammirato Jr, Roman(Alli) Ammirato, Josh Ammirato, Gabrielle Ammirato and Arden Ammirato. Four great grandchildren, Michael, Matthew,and Maximelio Giardino and Baylor Ammirato. She has one surviving brother, Pat DiNardo. A viewing will be held on Monday, February 24, 2025 from 10:30 AM - 12:00 PM at Our Lady of the Lakes R.C. Church, 19 Malaga Road in Collings Lakes, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00 PM. Burial will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, 124 S. First Road in Hammonton.
