Obituary of Gustavo R. Egizi Jr.
Gustavo "Gus" R. Egizi, Jr., 90 of Gibbsboro passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, January 21, 2025. Born in Erial, NJ Gus lived in Philadelphia before moving to the Hammonton area when he was in high school. He lived many years in the Hammonton and Rosedale area before moving to Gibbsboro thirty years ago. He had worked as a carpenter for the Philadelphia Carpenter's Union Local 8. He also had worked for AW Noto Construction and had his own busiiness, Gus's Wonder World of Wood. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy Reserves for many years. Gus enjoyed cooking, dancing, woodworking, music, cabinet making and spending time with his family, including his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Gus was predeceased by his son, Gino V. Egizi, his daughter, Janine G. Mull ,and his grandchildren, Renee Gina Coelho, Joey Mull and Michael Pascu. He is survived by his wife, Judy M. Egizi (nee Nicklas), his children, Michele Simpkins (Bill), Debi Rutledge (Rick), Gus Egizi (Esther), Sue DiSylvestro (Anthony), and Bruno Egizi (Michelle), his step-children, Nicole Brocious, Jennifer Regn (Keith) and Tom Wilson (Brea), his sister, Clara Broglio, his grandchildren, Michael DeRose (Kim), Matthew DeRose (Jess), Robert DeRose (Ashley), Aaron Rutledge, Stephen Rutledge (Colleen), Brian Rutledge (Susie), Nina Goss (Chip), Ronnie Mull (Deb), Joyce Masters (Sean), Madison Egizi (Nick), Bruno Egizi (Michelle). Brandy Egizi, Jacob Brocious (Ashley), Sara Brocious, Marc Brocious, Luke Brocious, Cade Regn, Cole Regn, Lucy Wilson, Tommy Wilson, Gertie Wilson. He is also survived by many great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and his dog, Maggie Mae.
A viewing will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2025 from 9:30 AM - 11:30 AM at the Carnesale Funeral Home, 202 S. Third Street, Hammonton, NJ where funeral services will take place at 11:30 AM. Entombment will follow at Greenmount Cemetery, 124 S. First Road in Hammonton. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, PO Box 758517, Topeka, KS 06675 or to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
