Obituary of Virginia G. Ortiz - Padilla

Virginia G. Ortiz - Padilla, 89 of Hammonton passed away on Sunday, August 15, 2021. Born in Manati, Puerto Rico she was a longtime resident of Hammonton. She formerly worked at Kessler Clothing Factory in Hammonton, and she was a member of the Amalgamated Clothing Workers Union. She was predeceased by her husband, Ismael Aponte, her son, Ismael Aponte Jr., her son in law, Benigno Mendez Sr., her sister, Maria Otiz, and three brothers, Amador Ortiz, Antonio Gonzalez, and Monserrate Ortiz. She is survived one son, Angel Aponte (Maria), three daughters, Irma Santiago (Mariano), Gloria E. Mendez, and Zenaida Medina (Miguel), one brother, Juan Ortiz, 15 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren and 13 great great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews , cousins and friends. A viewing will be held on Thursday, August 19, 2021 from 9:00 AM - 10:30 AM at the Carnesale Funeral Home, 202 S. Third Street in Hammonton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday 11:00 AM at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Parish Church of St. Joseph's, 226 French Street in Hammonton.
