Obituary of Gene M. Ransom

Gene M. Ransom, 87 of Elm, NJ passed away at home on Sunday, August 1, 2021. Born in Winsted, CT he was the son of Marjorie Edythe Crunden Ransom and Laurence Ensign Ransom of Meriden, CT. Gene grew up in West Hartland and Winsted CT and then moved to Meriden, CT. He joined the U.S. Army when he was 18 and was stationed at Fort Dix and later served in Germany. He worked for many years at United Airlines. He loved airplanes, and his many photographs of all the places he had traveled to. He was predeceased by siblings, Laurence Ensign Ransom Jr., Leola Wagner, Christine Scatton and infant sister, Lois Evelyn, niece, Kathleen Recchia and nephew, Daniel Wagner. He is survived by his loving wife, Grace H. Ransom (nee Eckert) and her children, Diane Clouser (Kerry), David Longo (Connie) and Kathy Demastes (Dave), five grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild, his aunt, Clarissa Miller, beloved sister, Laura Vumback, several nieces and nephews, Cheryl, Marie, Renee, Debbie, Donald, and Virginia, and several great nieces, nephews and cousins. A viewing will be held on Thursday, August 5, 2021 from 1:30 PM - 2:30 PM at the Carnesale Funeral Home in Hammonton, where funeral services will take place at 2:30 PM. Burial will follow at Greenmount Cemetery, 124 S. First Road in Hammonton.
