Obituary of Florence G. Urgent
Florence Geraldine Urgent (Lena), 88, of Grayson, Georgia, passed away on April 4, 2021, in Snellville, Georgia. Florence was born in Staten Island, New York, to Leander and Sarah Deal on September 11, 1933. She attended Pleasantville High School but missed the city and moved back to New York and worked as a computer Key-punch operator. Florence lived there for 19 years. Later she returned to New Jersey, and earned her GED at Atlantic Cape Community College. Florence worked at Wheaton Plastics in Mays Landing. She also worked for many years at and retired from Lenox China's Decal department in Pomona. Florence loved cooking meals for her family and friends, playing pinochle with her siblings, crocheting, giving lifestyle advice to anyone who listened, and her after-dinner tea. For many years, she enjoyed being a foster parent and treated each child as her own. She delighted in introducing them to family and using her own money to take them on new clothing shopping sprees Lena is affectionately known for her candid and outspoken personality. Florence is survived by her son, Louis E. Urgent of Vineland, daughter, Tanya F. Cain (James) of Grayson, GA, Stepdaughter, Yolanda Elmes, Flemington, NJ; Siblings; Gloria Deal, Esther Deal. Grandchildren: Louis Urgent Jr., Shaina N. Cain, Christopher Urgent, and Tailor R. Cain. Four great-grandchildren, her favorite nephew, Curtis Stevenson, and a host of other nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Axel S. Urgent, parents, Leander and Sara Deal, Siblings: William Deal, Thelma Deal, Ronald Deal, Barbara Thomas, Annie Stevenson, Eugene Deal, Joseph Deal, Judith Deal, Ruth Erwin, and Gatha Williams. Graveside Services will be held Saturday, April 17, 2021, 10:00 am in Greenmount Cemetery 124 S. First Road, Hammonton, NJ 08037. Memorial Donations maybe made to Robin's Nest, 42 Delsea Drive S, Glassboro, NJ 08028.
