Obituary of Barbara Ann Burak
Please share a memory of Barbara to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Barbara A. Burak (Jones-Muzzarelli), 66 of Buena Vista TWP., passed away peacefully, April 10th at home after a very courageous battle with cancer. She was born February 1st, 1955 in Hammonton to Walter and Margaret (Peggy) Jones. Barbara was raised in the Buena/Vineland area.
Barbara made her roots in Vineland where she raised her two greatest accomplishments, Jennifer and Michael. Barbara was a very proud mom and mommom. She never missed a moment to attend a basketball game, soccer game, baseball/softball game, program at school or any milestones in the lives of her children and grandchildren. She was our biggest cheerleader. For the past 7 years, we've been her biggest cheerleader in the hardest battle of her life. She fought it with dignity and grace.
As a young teenager Barbara worked on a blueberry farm in Hammonton to make a few bucks to enjoy the finer things in life. She worked years for Prudential Insurance in Millville, CVS Pharmacy in Mays Landing and spent her last few years before retirement working for the Vineland Board of Education. Barbara made many lasting friendships through the years with so many co-workers. Barbara also had a huge love of animals. Besides her family, taking care of her two cats (Bruno and PJ), her dog (Luna), chickens and goats brought her so much joy. She was a true farm girl.
Barbara was lucky enough to find a true gem in her husband Bill. For the last 15 years they have traveled, spent countless hours and adventures with her 3 grandchildren (who were the twinkle in her eye), and many days traveling in her beloved camper. She never came across a campground she didn't like. She enjoyed her time volunteering at the Cumberland County ASPCA, camp host at Assateague National Seashore Campground and Elk Neck, Maryland State Park. Walking the beach and collecting sea glass was a favorite pastime. We know she is in heaven collecting sea glass pain free.
Barbara was deeply loved and is survived by her devoted husband/caretaker Bill, her loving children Jennifer (Andrew) Nelson of Dorothy, Michael (Jessica) Muzzarelli of Buena. Her three grandchildren Haley, Denny and Anthony who were her reason for fighting. She is also survived by her two sisters Diana (Tim) Nichols of Finger, Tennessee and Sharon Flem of Richland along with countless nieces and nephews. Barbara was predeceased by her parents Walter and Peggy Jones.
A visitation will be held on Friday, April 16, 2021 from 10:00 AM - 11:30 AM at the Carnesale Funeral Home, 202S. Third Street, in Hammonton, where funeral services will take place at 11:30 AM.
