Obituary of Frank Chiappine

Frank Chiappine Jr., 86 of Hammonton passed away on Thursday, February 4, 2021 at CareOne at Evesham Assisted Living. Born in Winslow, NJ he was a longtime resident of the Hammonton area. Mr. Chiappine was President of Colonial Bank in Bridgeton for twenty seven years. He was very active member of the New Jersey Savings League, where he served on the Board of Governors, was Chairman of the Human Services Committee, Trustee of the Employee Benefits Trust, and was a member of the State Legislative Committee, Industrial Relations Committee and Legislative and Regulatory Committee. He was a member of America's Community Bankers Government Affairs Council in Washington D.C., served as President of the Cumberland and Salem County Savings League, District Chairman of the Cumberland County Boy Scouts, Chairman of the Heart Fund Drive, President of the Bridgeton Rotary Club and was a honored as a Paul Harris Fellow. He also served as a member of the Upper Deerfield Planning Board, the Chamber of Commerce in Bridgeton, as Director of the United Fund, member of the parish council in Bridgeton and Hammonton and was an associate member of Real Estate Appraisers Association. He also honorably served in the U.S. Army from 1957-1959. He was predeceased by his son, Jeffrey M. Chiappine, his grandson, Stefan M. Chiappine, his parents, Frank and Carmella Chiappine, his brothers, Joseph Chiappine, Lee Chappine, and Anthony Chiappine , his sisters, Julie DeStefano, Rosalie Calderone and Phyllis DiDonato. He is survived by his beloved wife of sixty four years, Ada Chiappine (nee McIntosh), one daughter, Lisa Ann Karnuk (Bill), one son, Frank Chiappine III (Amy) three grandchildren, Melinda Chiappine, Hannah Chiappine, and Benjamin Chiappine, one great granddaughter, Alyssa Capelli, two brothers in law, Tip DiDonato, and John Calderone (Sharon), and several brothers in law, and sisters in law on the McIntosh side of family, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Relatives and friends are invited to attend viewing on Monday, February 8, 2021 from 9:00 AM - 10:30 AM at the Carnesale Funeral Home, 202 S. Third Street in Hammonton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday 11:00 AM at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Parish Church of St. Anthony of Padua, 285 Route 206 in Hammonton. Entombment will follow at Greenmount Cemetery, 124 S. First Road in Hammonton. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the charity of donors choice.
