Obituary of Richard S. Proca

Richard S. Proca, 65, longtime resident of Hammonton passed away on Thursday at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia. Richard was a proud graduate of St. Joseph's High School in Hammonton Class of 1973. Richard was also a graduate of Delaware Valley Agricultural College in Doylestown, PA. Richard worked over the years as a Produce Inspector for the USDA at JFK Airport, as a chair pusher on the Atlantic City Boardwalk, and as a produce processor for Macrie Produce in Hammonton. He was a financial supporter for Richard Branson (Virgin Airlines) Solar Flight around the world, he also attended a space shuttle launch in Florida. Richard was predeceased by his mother, Mamie Proca (nee Berenato) and his father, Sigmund Ambroze Proca. He is survived by several cousins and his devoted classmates from St. Joseph's High School. A viewing will be held on Wednesday, July 29, 2020 from 8:30 AM - 9:30 AM at the Carnesale Funeral Home, 202 S. Third Street in Hammonton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, July 29, 2020 at 10:00 AM at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Parish Church of St. Joseph's, 226 French Street in Hammonton. Burial will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, 124 S. First Road in Hammonton. In lieu of flowers donation may be made to the St. Vincent DePaul Food Pantry, 226 French Street, Hammonton, NJ 08037.
