Obituary of Alfred V. Ammirato

Alfred "Al" Ammirato, 86, of Hammonton passed away on Friday, May 22, 2020 at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, Galloway Township, NJ. Born and raised in Hammonton, Al graduated from Hammonton High School Class of 1952. He was a former contractor having built several homes in Hammonton, Al then went on to work as a realtor selling homes in the Hammonton area. Al lived at the Hammonton Center from 2011 to the present time. He made many lasting friendships with the staff there. Al was a devout Catholic, he enjoyed spending time volunteering at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Parish, where he was also a Sacristan. Al would open the Church every morning and prepare for the daily Mass and then stay and provide assistance to the Priests. Al enjoyed baseball and the Philadelphia Phillies. He was an usher for the Philadelphia Phillies at Veterans Stadium for some years. He took pride in being a "part" of the game and enjoyed sharing stories with friends. Al liked people and he had a way of making people feel special. He was predeceased by his parents, Salvatore and Patricia Ammirato, his brothers John and Rudy, his sister, Rose Ordille and best friend and loving sister Yolanda Ammirato. Services and Burial will be held in Greenmount Cemetery, Hammonton. Memorial Donations in Alfred's name may be made to St. Joseph's Convent 219 N. Third Street, Hammonton, NJ 08037.
