Obituary of Paige Goolden
Please share a memory of Paige to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
On May 6th, the world lost a beautiful soul and Heaven gained an angel.
Paige Goolden, was a young woman of grit, love, and determination. There are no words to express how much Paige meant to all of us and how much she will be missed. Paige was a fun, energetic, young woman who had a soul that was wise beyond her years. She had a genuine, loving spirit. And, she gave of herself honestly and sincerely without expecting anything in return. Paige had a humor that could make you smile, and an unforgettable giggle that was contagious. In fact, every time she walked into a room her presence would light it up. She could make you laugh with a funny face, a crazy dance or an off beat song. But Paige could also sit down and hold your hand, listen to you, and make you know you were special. Her acceptance and understanding could make you feel as if you were the most important person in the world. She was caring and down to earth.
Paige had GRIT! She had an independent and fierce determination that helped her overcome many obstacles in her life. She and her twin sister Hannah had a relationship that many can only dream of sharing. There was a balanced amount of growth in their loving sisterly disagreements. It was amazing to watch how they found resolutions and never diminished the love they shared.
Paige didn’t have it easy. She was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes at age five. She grew up accepting, but not liking, that she had to take care of her body differently from other kids. This only made Paige stronger. Despite the challenges, she was a competitor who tackled obstacles in her life with courage. She was constantly pushing herself and others around her to do and be better. She had high and bold expectations. Without a doubt, Paige was a natural born leader.
Paige attended Mullica Township Elementary and Middle School where she was well known and loved. She participated in many school activities during her time there. Her life expanded beautifully in so many ways. Paige was a senior at Cedar Creek High School and was preparing to graduate with the class of 2020. She certainly made an impact on her teachers, fellow students, and other parents through her participation in many school activities and sports including Crew, participating in the Nationals and setting a new school record, Swim Team as Captain, Tennis, Drama Club, French National Honor Society, Martial Arts Club, Math Club, and Future Business Leaders of America. Paige was a Distinguished Varsity Scholar. Paige had a passion for theater and was an important part of the stage crew for multiple drama productions, acting as stage manager during her senior year. She was a member of the Thespian Honor Society. Notably, Paige was the director’s right hand during productions.
You would have recognized Paige from her job at Claire’s Boutique in the Hamilton Mall where she loved interacting with people. Paige also loved her work as a lifeguard at Atsion Lake. She took satisfaction in knowing that she was there to help others. Paige had an active love of the Lord and enjoyed youth activities and events at The United Methodist Church in Winslow. Paige was one who thought highly of giving back to the community through volunteering at local events including at the local soup kitchen. Her actions and sincerity were humbling.
Paige enjoyed spending her time camping, and at the Jersey shore in Wildwood. It was common to see her passing time in laughter with her sister Hannah and best friend Riley. Paige loved animals and was able to enjoy that passion with her family pets. She loved all animals and they responded to Paige by returning that love. Not surprisingly, her friends frequently reminded her that she was “like a mother hen”. Paige dearly loved her sister Megan and brother-in-law Tucker and simply adored her nieces Amelia and Piper. They enjoyed going to the see the horseraces during their yearly vacations to Saratoga Springs, NY. During her short yet full life, she was able to experience the love of a wonderful young man and partner. LA was her one and only true love.
The impact Paige had on so many people in such a short lifetime speaks to the kind of young woman she was and the potential everyone saw in her. Paige engaged everyone in her life with a certain ease that drew you into her circle. She was very outgoing and a joy to be around. Paige was just as beautiful on the outside as she was on the inside. Paige will not be forgotten.
Paige is survived by her parents Geoffrey Gary Goolden and Renee Albertson Goolden, siblings Tucker and Megan Brown nee Goolden, and identical twin sister Hannah Goolden. In addition her grandmothers Dorothy Albertson of Winslow, NJ, and Patricia Goolden of Hannawa Falls, NY, many aunts, uncles, cousins, and beloved nieces Amelia and Piper Brown, beloved partner and friend LA Rodriquez, as well as many, many friends who all considered her family and will love her forever.
Due to current restrictions, a memorial service will be planned for a later date to celebrate this wonderful young woman’s short but amazing life. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Paige’s honor and memory.
Checks can be made payable to “Cedar Creek Theatre” and mailed to the below address. Please write “Remembering Paige Goolden” in the memo.
