Obituary of Anthony Zozone

Anthony "Zizzy" Zozone, 77, of Hammonton, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Friday, August 4, 2017. Born in Hammonton he was a lifelong resident there. He served for six years in the U.S. Army National Guard. Before retiring, Zizzy worked for forty one years for the Town of Hammonton Sewer Department. He was an avid hunter and a member of Never There Gun Club in Hammonton. Zizzy played and managed softball for eighteen years in the 49's South Jersey Softball League. He was also a baseball and softball coach for the Hammonton Little League. Zizzy was predeceased by his parents, Nicholas and Mary Zozone, and his sister Sue Bintliff. He is survived by his wife, Beverly Zozone; two daughters, Michelle Coia (Nick Coia Jr) of Hammonton, and Monica Osburn (Bobby Osburn) of Fuquay-Varina, NC, four grandchildren, Tara Coia, Nicholas Coia III, Macie Osburn and Bobby Osburn II ; two sisters, Nickie Mature (Tom) of Hammonton and Marie Williams (Don) of Carneys Point. A viewing will be held on Tuesday, August 8, 2017 from 6:30 PM - 9:00 PM at the Carnesale Funeral Home, 202 S. Third Street in Hammonton. There will be no viewing on Wednesday morning. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at 11:00 AM at the First United Methodist Church of Hammonton, 398 Bellevue Avenue in Hammonton. Burial will follow at Greenmount Cemetery in Hammonton. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital PO Box 1000 Dept 142 Memphis, TN 38101-9908.
