Obituary of Lillian D. Dorsey

Lillian D. Dorsey, 70, born October 2, 1946, passed away Saturday, April 22, 2017 in AtlanticCare Regional Medical Center in Atlantic City. Born and raised in Hammonton, NJ to the late Clifton H. Dorsey, Sr. and Sadie Grays-Dorsey. She attended the Hammonton School System and graduated in 1966. Lillian moved to Atlantic City in 1969 where she worked at Resort Casino for 7 years. Moving her career to a higher level she went to Bally's Park Place Casino as a security guard for 20 years. She then relocated to Egg Harbor City in 2014. Lillian was an avid member of Second Baptist Church of Atlantic City for 10 years. She later began attending Hosanna's Way Sanctuary until recently. She had several civic affiliations throughout the years. She devoted her life to her children and grandchildren. Lillian was the older sister and she had her own special relationship with her younger sister Lorraine Crowder and loved any and all contact with her brothers. She had a fiery and sassy attitude that would always make you laugh. Lillian was predeceased by her parents, Clifton H. Dorsey, Sr. and Sadie Grays-Dorsey and her brothers, Clifton Dorsey, Jr., Robert Grays, and William E. Dorsey. She leaves to cherish her, her children, Jacqueline Dorsey of Egg Harbor, James Dorsey of Camden, Lloyd Dorsey of Egg Harbor, Robert A. Dorsey of Vineland, Robert T. Turner and Racquetta Turner of Egg Harbor; her two brothers, Henry Dorsey of Hammonton; Ronald Dorsey, Sr. (Levini) of Mays Landing and one sister, Lorraine Crowder-Johnson (Russell) of Egg Harbor. Lillian also leaves behind grandchildren whom all brought her joy and happiness, a host of nieces, nephews and cousins whom are like daughters and sisters. She was a strong willed woman with a great heart and personality. She had a special relationship with family. She was very supportive, the love she had for her grandchildren whom kept her smiling with joy. She loved to dance and enjoyed her music and the passion she felt for the Lord. Funeral Services will be held Saturday April 29, 2017 11:00am at the Carnesale Funeral Home, 202 S. Third St., Hammonton, where a viewing will be held from 10:00am until 11:00am. Burial will follow in Winslow Methodist Church Cemetery.
