Obituary of Thomas G. Garvey

Thomas Gordon Garvey Jr., 73, of Winlow Township passed away on Tuesday, November 10, 2015 at Virtua Health Systems in Voorhees with his loving family by his side. Born in Blue Anchor, NJ he was a lifelong resident of Winslow Township. Tom attended high school at Archmere Academy in Claymont, DE. Tom was an entrepreneur and businessman his entire life and owned Tagar Manufacturing. He enjoyed fishing, boating, NASCAR racing, hunting, singing, playing the guitar, and driving and collecting classic cars. He was predeceased by brothers, Mark and John Garvey, and his brother in law, Stephen Rooney. He is survived by his wife, Marilyn Garvey; his five children, Thomas Gordon Garvey III (Sue) of Ocean City, Joseph Garvey (Leeann) of Berlin, Jacque Garvey King (Joseph O'Neill) of Nesco, April L. Carnesale (Mike) of Hammonton, and Robert Garvey of Williamstown; two step daughters, Jennifer Waltimyer (Russell) of Sicklerville, and Christina Berthel (Gary) Clementon; three sisters, Diane Fucetola (Rocco), Liz Penza (Ron) all of Hammonton, Marie Phero (Walt) of Winslow Township, fifteen grandchildren, Thomas IV, Michael, Richard, Angel, Brian, Julia, Madison, Samantha, Danielle, Michael Jr., Nicky, Christina, Sophia , Mason and Jackson, one great granddaughter, Charleigh Rose; the mother of his children, Joann Garvey, and his mother in law, Lucille Ricciutti. A viewing will be held on Saturday, November, 14, 2015 from 9:00 AM - 11:30 AM at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Parish Church of St. Anthony of Padua, 285 Route 206 in Hammonton, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 AM. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Leigh Ann Fucetola Scholarship Fund, 410 Grape Street, Hammonton, NJ 08037.
