Albert E. Toy, 90 of Hammonton found peace from the grip of Alzheimer's Disease on November 17, 2010. Al was born and raised in Berlin, NJ where he served as Chief of the fire department and on town council. He was a Hammonton resident for the past thirty five years. A lifetime builder, Al served his country during World War II in the Pacific Theater as an U.S. Navy Ceebee. He was predeceased by his wife, Elva. he is survived by one daughter, Eleanor Bauers and her husband, Robert of Hammonton, two grandchildren, Deanna Bauers Griffith (Patrick) of Monroe, NC, Robert Bauers Jr. (Michele) of Hammonton, three great grandchildren, Stephanie and Kirsten Griffith and Robert (Will) Bauers III. Al is also survived by one sister, Frances Cartwright (Joe) of Winslow, and one brother, William Toy of Berlin, one sister in law, Elizabeth Toy of Berlin, and many nieces and nephews. A viewing will be held Monday, November 22, 2010 from 9:30 AM - 10:30 AM at the Carnesale Funeral Home, 202 S. Third Street in Hammonton, where funeral services will take place at 10:30 AM. Burial will follow at Brig. Gen. Wm. C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery, 350 Provinceline Line Road, Wrightstown, NJ. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Hammonton Presbyterian Church, 326 Bellevue Avenue, Hammonton, NJ 08037.
