Obituary of Jean A. DeRose

Jean A. DeRose, 89 of Hammonton passed away on Wednesday, July 22, 2015 in Lansing, Michigan while visiting with relatives. Born in Blue Ridge, IL she lived in Hammonton for over 75 years. She formerly worked as a seamstress at Harbor Fashions Sportswear in Egg Harbor and as a blackjack dealer at Bally's Park Place Casino in Atlantic City. Mrs. DeRose was a volunteer at the Padre Pio Shrine in Landisville, where she met and made many lasting friendships. Jean had a wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed telling jokes and making people laugh. She loved to travel and especially loved taking cruises. Mrs. DeRose was predeceased by her husband Sam and her son Michael. She is survived by her daughter in law, Florence "Zazz" DeRose of Hammonton; her three grandchildren, Michael DeRose and his wife Stacy, Jeanne Mahoney and her husband Jim; Ryan DeRose and his wife Jaclyn and her three great grandchildren, Sara, Emily and Mary. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Parish, Church of St. Joseph's 226 French St., Hammonton on Wednesday August 5, 2015 at 12:00pm. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
