Joseph "Mohawk" Berenato, 96 of Hammonton passed away on Sunday, July 5, 2015 at his residence. Born in Hammonton he was a lifelong resident. He was an army veteran and served during World War II. He was a self-employed farmer and was still going to the farm everyday. "Mohawk" was a member of the Never There Gunning Club. He loved fishing, hunting, and going to the casino, . He was an avid Phillies fan and loved watching them play. He was predeceased by his wife, Evelyn, his daughter Virginia Frassetto and his two sisters, Catherine Carullo and Grace Berenato. Mohawk is survived by his son, Anthony J. Berenato and his wife Heidi of Hammonton, his four grandchildren, Debbie Samuelson, Anna Warburton (Michael), Jaime Cirillo (James) and Joseph F. Berenato (Helena), six great grandchildren, Joey Samuelson, Justin-Michael Berenato, Connor and David Warburton; Leah and Jimmy Cirillo. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday 11:00am in St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Parish, Church of St. Joseph's, 226 French St., Hammonton. Burial will follow in Greenmount Cemetery. A viewing will be held Wednesday morning 8:30am until 10:30am at the Carnesale Funeral Home, 202 S. Third St., Hammonton. Memorial Donations may be made to the NF network, 213 S. Wheaton Ave., Wheaton, IL 60187.
