Obituary of Marguerite V. Penza

Marguerite Penza (Volgarino), 93, of Hammonton passed away peacefully on April 7, 2015 at the Hammonton Center. Marguerite was born December 11, 1921 in Mt. Holly, NJ, and she resided in Hammonton for almost 70 years. She was married to her late husband, Anthony Penza for 60 years. Marguerite worked for many years and retired from Bell Telephone of Hammonton, where she was a supervisor and operator. She was a World War II volunteer at Ft. Dix, where she assisted injured soldiers and veterans. Marguerite is predeceased by her husband, Anthony Penza and her parents, Raffaele and Josephine Volgarino. She is also predeceased by her brother and sisters, Louis Volgarino, Mary Boudnot, John Volgarino, Michael Volgarino, Donald Volgarino, Josephine O'Donnelle, Sylvia Volgarino, Woodrow Volgarino, Edith Durr, and Ralph Volgarino. She is also predeceased by her sisters in law, Georgiana Maccri (Penza), Frances Penza and brother in law, Dr. Albert Hill. Marguerite is survived by her sister, Barbara Gilda Lamprinos, her sister in law, Theresa Hill (Penza), brother in law, Rinaldo Penza, sister in law, Evelyn Franchetti (Penza) and her husband, Daniel Franchetti Sr., her nephew and caregiver, Daniel Franchetti Jr. and his wife, Elizabeth and all of her nieces and nephews and their families. A private Mass of Christian Burial was held on Friday, April 10, 2015 followed by entombment at Greenmount Cemetery in Hammonton. Marguerite had a great affection for all animals, especially dogs and loved all of her family's pets.
