Obituary of Leon J. Marino

Leon J. Marino, 83 of Hammonton passed away on Monday Sept. 15, 2014 in Virtua West Jersey Hospital in Voorhees. Born in Hammonton he was a lifelong resident there. He formerly worked at the Hammonton Post Office as a maintenance worker and as a rural mail carrier. He also worked as a dealer at Showboat Hotel/Casino for 10 years. Mr. Marino was a member of the Hammonton Canoe Club, the G3I-Marine Corps. and was a member of the Hammonton DAV Post #66, where he was a Past Commander. He also was a former referee for the Hammonton Woman's Softball League. He was an avid Flyers, Eagles and Phillies fan. Mr. Marino was predeceased by his wife of 60 years, Jean Marino(nee Scibilia) and his son in law Drew Holland. He is survived by his daughters Joann Eastburn and her husband Don of West Chester, PA, Toni Holland of Hammonton, one sister, Roseann Kennedy of Florida, his sister in law Anna LoDuca of Hammonton, his five grandchildren, Donald Eastburn III (Amy), Carrie Imperatore, Lauren Hennessey (Brendan) Joie Imperatore, Jill Eastburn and 11 great grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday 9:30am in St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Parish Church of St. Joseph's 226 French St., Hammonton. Burial will follow in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Viewings will be held Friday 7:00pm - 9:00pm and again on Saturday 8:00am - 9:00am at the Carnesale Funeral Home, 202 S. Third St., Hammonton. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Hammonton Canoe Club 100 Central Ave., Hammonton, NJ 08037.
